Dr Phillip Myers MB BS FRANZCO Medical Retina & Cataract Surgery & General Ophthalmology
Dr Myers graduated from Sydney University and obtained his training in Ophthalmology through the Sydney Eye Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, and has been an accredited registrar training supervisor since 1994. His areas of expertise include a special interest in medical retina and on high quality outcomes in cataract surgery.
Dr Myers commenced private practice in Blacktown in 1994 and opened a second practice in Castle Hill in 2003. Dr Myers believes strongly that a mix of public and private medicine is the best model of health care for Australia. Since graduation he has been constantly involved in the public health system, and has been Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Bankstown Hospital for over 7 years. His academic focus has been noted in publications over the past few years in areas as diverse as rates of Endophthalmitis in Western Sydney, and in drug-induced toxic optic neuropathy.
Dr Myers is committed to providing a range and quality of ophthalmic services to patients, their GPs and Optometrists across Western Sydney.
Dr Kiran Sindhu MB BS FRANZCO Glaucoma & Cataract Surgery & General Ophthalmology
Dr Sindhu graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1984 and completed his Ophthalmology training in 1992. Dr Sindhu is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.
His main surgical interests are with Cataract and Glaucoma patients, with additional interests in Paediatric Ophthalmology.
Dr Sindhu commenced private practice in Sydney in 2000, after several years in Tasmania and has been involved extensively in ophthalmology registrar training since 1993.
Surgery is performed at Castle Hill Day Surgery, and Westmed Day Surgery, Westmead. He is also a Visiting Medical Officer and Registrar Training Supervisor at Westmead Hospital, as well as providing Ophthalmic services to Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospitals.
Dr Eric Chai MB BS FRANZCO Glaucoma & Cataract Surgery & General Ophthalmology
Dr Eric Chai is a Ophthalmic Surgeon with a sub-specialty interest in Glaucoma and small incision Cataract surgery.
A medical graduate of the University of Sydney, he completed his Ophthalmic training at the Sydney Eye Hospital and is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. In 2003, he completed a Fellowship in Glaucoma at Cheltenham and Gloucester, UK.
Currently, Dr Chai is a Visiting Medical Officer at Bankstown Public Hospital and is active in the training of future Ophthalmologists. He is also involved in the continuing education of Optometrists and GPs.
Dr I-Van Ho MB BS, MPH, PhD, FRANZCO Medical Retina & Vitreo-retinal Surgery
Dr I-Van Ho is a Vitreo Retinal Surgeon and a Macular Disease Specialist who practises exclusively in surgical and medical diseases of the macular, retina and vitreous. A graduate of Sydney University Medical School, he completed his Ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital. He has completed Vitreo-Retinal Fellowships at the Sydney Eye Hospital and University of British Columbia Canada. In 2006, he completed a Macular Disease and Medical Retinal fellowship at the Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital and Vitreous Retina Macula New York, under the mentorship of Dr Lawrence Yannuzzi, a world leader in the diagnosis and management of macular disease and complex medical retinal diseases. Dr Ho is currently the Senior Lecturer in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney and performs his surgery at the Sydney Eye Hospital.
His interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal vessel diseases and he performs small-incision vitreo retinal surgery for macular holes, macular membranes and retinal detachment. Dr Ho speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.
Dr Loren Rose - MB BS FRANZCO Paediatric Ophthalmology & General Ophthalmology
Dr Rose holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours (1st Class) in Visual Neuroscience. She also holds a MBBS from the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours (2nd class) and spent her Resident years at Concord General Hospital. Dr Rose completed her Ophthalmology training at the Royal Eye and Ear Hospital in Victoria as well as a Fellowship in Paediatric ophthalmology at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.
Her special interests are in general and paediatric ophthalmology. Dr Rose speaks fluent Spanish.
